The 9th Muslim World Biz will be organized from September 17-20, 2018 at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) in Malaysia’s capital city Kuala Lumpur with the theme “Spearheading Sustainable Economic Growth.” The Muslim World Business and Investment Zone has been organized as an event since 2010. This hugely popular world class event focusing on the Muslim World has the mandate of elevating the status of the Islamic economy through a process of activities to plan, formulate and implement workable strategies.

This premier yearly event has established several platforms, which offer trade, business and investment opportunities for businesses from various industries in Malaysia, regionally, across the 57 OIC member countries and worldwide. This includes trade exhibitions, conferences, specialized publications, and outdoor advertising. The 9th Muslim World Biz is being organized in collaboration with Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT), Morocco, a subsidiary organ of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Saudi Arabia, together with Association of Muslim World Business Malaysia.

The Exhibition Zone where companies from different parts of the world showcase their products and services and also engage in business matching meetings; (2.) The Conference Zone in which many compelling issues are discussed including those concerning Trade and Investment, Infrastructure, Higher Education, Islamic Tourism and Women’s Empowerment; and (3) The Award Ceremonies which celebrate the accomplishments of individuals who have succeeded in driving forward the contributions of their organizations to local and international communities.

Muhammed Raja Talib bin Dato’ Dr Raja Mohamad Abdullah, Chairman of the organising committee, in his speech during the official launch of the 8th Muslim World Biz last year, highlighted some significant milestones that have been achieved over the years and promised to continue the hard work to attain greater success. As the organizing partner, the Director General of the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade, Dr El Hassane Hzaine who officiated the event on behalf of the Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), showed the OIC’s deep appreciation to efforts being exerted to organize such a world class event and urged for further collaboration to enhance the progress of the Islamic economy.

Preparations for the 9th Muslim World Biz have actively started with the main components remain unchanged. Around 700 booths are expected to be taken by over 300 companies from around the world, while six conferences will be running concurrently, including the OIC-Asia Trade & Economic Forum, OIC Higher Education Forum, the Muslim World Infrastructure and Investment Conference, the Muslim World Women’s Summit, the World Islamic Tourism Conference and the Round Table Talk, which presents a global leadership programme with the participation of current and previous recipients of the Jewels of the Muslim World Award and the Muslim World Rania Award. However, several new activities in 2018 will be announced soon by the organizers.

The 9th Muslim World Biz looks forward and ready to welcome the participation of business leaders and professionals, industry experts, entrepreneurs, financial and economic analysts, academicians and also those from outside the Muslim World, who are interested in learning about the concepts of Halal certification and standardisation.
