The 2-day World Halal Day 2018 event was held this month on November 1st and 2nd. According to the organisers of the event, World Halal Day aimed at creating an in-depth understanding on Halal and for enhancing the industry. It also aims to raise awareness on current issues related to the Halal economy and how to address them.
The conference was hosted in Seoul Korea’s capital Seoul. Korean products including food, cosmetics, pharma and medical equipments were specifically promoted with an aim to widen their international reach particularly in Muslim countries.
World Halal Day also aimed to put Korea in the map of Muslim friendly destination in the world.
World Halal Day 2018 Seoul attracted leading institutions, 85 local and international exhibitors, 53 country delegations representations, and many international and local buyers and distributors. The organizers hoped to generate business of US$250 million dollars from the signing of different business MOU.
Middle East • Asia Business Expo 2018 Seoul was held on November 1st and 2nd at Grand Intercontinental Seoul Parnas Hotel Grand Ballroom on the 5th floor. It was held with great success and saw the participation of government personnel, chief executives and buyers from 53 countries including Asia, Africa, India and Russia, as well as domestic and foreign companies.
The fair was hosted by 101 domestic companies in the fields of food, beauty, medical, tourism, fashion and consumer goods and 16 booths in India.
The United World Halal Development (UNWHD) summit was sponsored by AdipoLabs Co., Ltd., KBS Artvision, Korean Halal Association, Korea Halal Trade, Korean Muslim Umma, KOTRA and KITA.
Indeed, the digitalisation of halal travel is poised to drive the sector forward, boosted by the customisation of tour packages as halal travel companies harvest insights from data analytics. Muslims spent US$177 billion on travel in 2017, and the number is projected to reach US$274 billion by 2023.
World Halal Day provides “a good platform” for the key players in the Halal market, as well as international gurus and leaders of the industry to explore the huge potential of Halal industry and the creative yields of its market through B2B meetings.
The halal market is growing rapidly, reaching US$4 trillion worldwide.

After the inaugural ceremony, Kim Byeong-jun (CEO) made a tour of the VIP booths.
On the evening of the first day of the event, the buyers and companies from all over the world participated in the business meeting at the evening dinner hosted by AdipoLabs Co., Ltd. The focus was on the clinical effects and product introduction.
