Mumbai: Blossom Media recently hosted ‘Humanity First Conclave’ with the aim of promoting the spirit of interfaith harmony and a peaceful co-existence at Worli, Mumbai. Over 300 people attended the event, which saw the participation of various religious heads and followers.
Edgard D Kagan, US Consul General, who was invited as a guest of honour in his speech said, “All religion teaches compassion for the fellow human.” He emphasized on the importance of loving neighbours by giving references of various religious scriptures. Coffee table book titled ‘Mumbai Heroes’ featuring works of people on interfaith in real life was released by Mr. Kagan.
The religious leaders participating in the panel included Moulana Siddiqullah Chowdhary, Education Minister in Govt. of West Bengal; Father Hanry Vaz, Rector Church Cathedral, Mumbai; Giani Jaspreet Singh, Head Granthi Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Singh Sahib; Dr. Bhadant Rahul Bodhi, Head United Buddhist Mission; Yezdi Panthaki, Zoroastrian Priest; and Maulana Abu Zafar Hassan Nadvi Azhari. All spiritual leaders spoke on the way forward for interfaith harmony.
One of the prominent business figures, Dr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala, Inspector Qaisar Khalid, Atul Agarwal, Chairman MCHI – CREDAI, and Atika presented their thoughts and poetry on celebrating interfaith harmony.
Mumbai Heroes were presented awards during the conclave. Many leading NGOs from Mumbai are associated with Blossom Media in spreading the message of peace and harmony.
The multi-faith harmony dinner engaged the attendees in friendly dialogue to stimulate mutual understanding and respect for others and their respective religious traditions and customs. Famous dishes from Muslim, Hindu, Christian, Zoroastrain and Buddhist communities were served on the occasion.
