India’s low-cost airline GoAir recently launched its new flights services to UAE capital Abu Dhabi. The new service will be operated from Kannur in South Indian state of Kerala. The flights will be operated every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The launch of GoAir’s four new flights between Abu Dhabi International Airport and Kannur International Airport has come at a time when travel between India and UAE remains quite popular and at an all time high.
Bryan Thompson, CEO Abu Dhabi Airports, said: “India is a key travel market for Abu Dhabi International Airport, and we are always eager to strengthen our connectivity to the Indian Subcontinent, enhancing further our services extended to our dear customers.”
Jeh Wadia, Managing Director, GoAir, speaking during the launch ceremony said: “This is a historic moment for GoAir as we enter the Middle East region with our maiden flight taking off from Kannur to Abu Dhabi, thereby strengthening the India–UAE relationship.”
GoAir is presently the fastest growing airline in the world. Abu Dhabi is the airline’s fourth international destination after Phuket, Male and Muscat, and its overall 28th destination.
GoAir is currently operating more than 230 daily flights and about 1,600 weekly flights across 28 destinations worldwide with the help of a fleet of 49 Airbus A320 and Airbus A320neo aircrafts.
